The point of getting a lawyer is NOT to go infront of the judge with, it's to be able to talk to the local district attorney. You as an individual can not do that, but your attorney CAN and should talk to the DA prior to the hearing, you may be able to negotiate a lesser fine/charge, plead to it and AVOID court. That's the point of having a attorney - to never get infront of the judge, not to have someone retell your shit to him once you're in court and it's too damn late.
